alam tara ilā rabbika kayfa madda l-ẓila walaw shāa lajaʿalahu sākinan thumma jaʿalnā l-shamsa ʿalayhi dalīla
Do you not see [to] your Lord how He extends the shadow? And if He willed, surely He (could) have made it stationary. Then We made the sun for it an indication.
Art thou not aware of thy Sustainer [through His works]? - how He causes the shadow to lengthen [towards the night] when, had He so willed, He could indeed have made it stand still: but then, We have made the sun its guide
Hast thou not seen how thy Lord hath spread the shade - And if He willed He could have made it still - then We have made the sun its pilot
Hast thou not turned thy vision to thy Lord?- How He doth prolong the shadow! If He willed, He could make it stationary! then do We make the sun its guide
Have you not seen how your Lord extends the shade—He could have simply made it ˹remain˺ still if He so willed—then We make the sun its guide,
Have you not considered how your Lord lengthens the shadow [when], had He so willed, He could have made it stationary? [Instead], We have made the sun its guide,
Have you not seen how your Lord lengthens the shadows? Had He pleased, He could have made them constant; then We placed the sun as an indicator for them

Hast thou not considered how thy Lord stretched out the shade? If He willed, He would make it a place of rest. Again, We made the sun an indicator over it.
Have you not seen how your Lord lengthens shadows? If He so wished, He would make them stand still. Then We placed the sun as an indicator for them;
Have you not seen how your Lord spread the shadow? If He willed, He could have made it still. Then We have made the sun a guide over it
Hast thou not considered thy Lord, how He spreads out the shade—and had He willed, He could have made it still—and then We make the sun an indicator of it
Have you not pondered towards (the worhead of state of) your Nourisher-Sustainer how He has extended the shadow? And if He willed, surely He would make it still — then We have made the sun as a cause and effect over it
Have you not seen how your Lord extends a shadow? If He wanted, He could make it constant. Then We made the sun an indication of it
Do you not see how your Lord extends the shadow? Had He willed, He could have made it still. And We made the sun a pointer to it
Have you not regarded your Lord, how He has extended the shade? And if He had so decided, He would indeed have made it still. Thereafter We made the sun a constant indicator of it
Have you not seen that your Lord increases the shadow. Had He wanted He would have made it stationary], and has made the sun their guide
Have you not observed how your Lord stretched out the shadow (of the sun)? If He so willed, He would have made it stand still. Then We made the sun an indicator for it
Are you not aware of your Lord by His Works? - How He spread the shade. And if He Willed, He could have made it still! Then We have made the sun its pilot. (He could have designed the Solar System differently with the earth remaining stationary)
Do you not see how your Lord spreads out darkness? If He wanted, He could make it permanent! But He appointed the sun as a pilot (to drive away the darkness)
Have you not turned your sight (and thoughts) towards your Lord? How He pulls the shadow (longer during the evenings and mornings)! If He willed, He could make it fixed! Then We make the sun its guide (as it lengthens)
Have you not considered your Lord - how He extends the shadow, and if He willed, He could have made it stationary? Then We made the sun for it an indication
Did you not see to your Lord how He casts the shadow And if He wished, He could have made it still, then We would have made the sun as a guide to it

Have you not seen how your Lord spreads the shadow? Had He willed He could have made it still - We make the sun its guide
Did you not see how you Master makes the shadow longer, and if He wanted He would have made it stand still, and We made the sun its guide
Have you not turned your vision to your Guardian Evolver? See how He prolongs the shadow? If He willed, He could make it stationary. But instead We make the Sun its guide
Don’t you see how Your Lord makes the shadow get longer and longer, if He wanted He could have fixed its size. We made the sun a pointer to His existence,

'O beloved! Have you not seen your Lord that how He has spread the shadow? And if He had willed, He would have made it stationary, then We have made the sun guide over it.
Have you not seen how your Lord designed the shadow? If He willed, He could have made it fixed, then we would have designed the sun accordingly.
Do you not see how your Lord stretches the shadow? Had it been His will, He could have made it constant. Then He appointed the sun to be a guide to it

Have you not seen how your Lord spreads the shadow? Had He willed, He would have made it constant. But I have decided to make the sun its pilot
O dear Prophet, did you not see your Lord, how He spread the shade? And if He willed, He could have made it still; then We made the sun a proof upon it
Dost thou not see how thy Lord lengthens the shade? And if HE had pleased, HE could have made it stationary. Then WE make the position of the sun an indicator thereof
Have you not had a glance of (the Might of) your Lord, how He lengthens the shadow (till noon)? And had He willed, He could certainly have made it stationary. Then We have made the sun a proof of this (shadow)
Do you not see (the wonderful doing of) your Lord how He stretches the shadow? If He had pleased He could have made it still. Not only that (We stretch the shadow) We make (the position of) the sun its indicator
Have you not seen how your Lord spread the shadow. If He willed, He could have made it still then We have made the sun its guide (i.e. after the sunrise, it (the shadow) squeezes and vanishes at midnoon and then again appears in the afternoon with the decline of the sun, and had there been no sun light, there would have been no shadow)
Hast thou not regarded thy Lord, how He has stretched out the shadow? Had He willed, He would have made it still. Then We appointed the sun, to be a guide to it
Dost thou not consider the works of thy Lord, how He stretcheth forth the shadow before sun-rise? If he had pleased, he would have made it immovable for ever. Then We cause the sun to rise, and to shew the same
Hast thou not looked to thy Lord how He prolongs the shadow? but had He willed He would have made it stationary; then we make the sun a guide thereto
Hast thou not seen how thy Lord lengtheneth out the shadow? Had He pleased he had made it motionless. But we made the sun to be its guide

Do you not see how your Lord causes the shadow to lengthen when, had He so willed, He could have indeed made it stand still? But then We have made the sun its guide.
Did you not see how your Rabb lengthens the shadow (the ego-self, when the sun of the reality has not yet fully risen)? Had He willed surely He could have made it constant (immobile)... Then We made the Sun (the awareness of the reality) a proof for them.
Have you not seen (the might of) your Lord, how He extends the shadow? And if He had pleased He would certainly have made it stationary, then We have made the sun an indication of it
Do you not see how Allah, your Creator, prolonged and lengthened the shadow of any object intercepting the sun or other luminary! Had He willed He would have made it still, and We made the sun the indication asserting the phenomenon, its presence and its dimension
Or do you think that the majority of them hears or understands? They are nothing but like cattle, no, they are more astray from the way.
